One Saturday recently we were walking about downtown, and saw that the art museum was open (gratis!), so we looked through. There are three floors of artwork, and our favorite was the second, which held more traditional styles of paintings. We asked if it was okay to take photos, and they said "ja." We had varying degrees of success (trying not to get the reflection of the flash was a problem), but you can still see some of the paintings. If I'd been really good, I should have written down the names of the artists, but I didn't--maybe next time. There was a small sculpture by the famous Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland, but that photo did not turn out well. In Oslo, there is Vigeland Park where 212 of his statues reside. You can learn more about it at http://vigeland.museum.no/en and there is a nice blog about a couple's visit to the park in 2004 here: http://gardkarlsen.com/oslo_vigeland_park.htm.
