In our new place, there is not so much traffic that uses our door to the outside, and the entrance doesn't have an overhang, so when Mike was having difficulty opening the door after a big snow, he took it upon himself to do a bit of clearing. Fortunately, the "shovel" was available and it took him just a few minutes to clear a path. I've never seen one of these contraptions in the States (perhaps just didn't know to look for it)--but everyone uses them here, and they work great!
